Ode to the Windy City's heart and soul

Chicago, my sweet home.

In the region where winding rivers flow,

The refined clouds are caressed by the skyline.

There lies a city with a melodious tune.

--

The point of convergence between the beat of existence and musical cadence.

Gracefully from the shores of Lake Michigan,

Where dreams embrace the avenues,

Bold and free, Chicago's spirit soars high.

--

Indications of the past and future fate.

A jazzy tune is hummed by the L trains.

The stars come alive under the moon's gaze.

--

The remnants of a bygone era,

With a future that endures, let's dance.

--

Softly crying notes fill the blues bars.

And the high laughter of the city.

--

Chicago, a magnificent metropolis known as the Windy City.

Carries a sense of warmth that you will comprehend.

The artful change of seasons.

--

From streets covered in snow to the expanse of summer,

The charm of Chicago will always be evident.

Love that continually expands and flourishes.

--

Here's a toast to the city, powerful and authentic.

With a beating heart for both of us.

--

Chicago, our beloved home where we belong.

Our song is discovered within your embrace.

Understandable why you love Chicago by your poem. Chicago winter are brutal but Chicago summer are great.

you wrote an Ode to Chi-town!! I grew up 30 min south where the State Penn is, LOL. I loved this: A jazzy tune is hummed by the L trains. The windy city and I wrote many stories that I Am A Child of the Wind on Vocal due to growing up there….

Aw, I love this. I'm from the Chicagoland area and grew up here, you did such a great job with this. No one ever writes pretty poetry about Chicago nowadays and it's such a wonderful city. Beautiful poetry!
