Sweet Dreams

*

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Goodnight she said

Please go to sleep

There is nothing left

The day can bring

So, close your eyes

Welcome your dreams

Say your goodnights

While angels sing

The sandman calls

Sweet dust in hand

He’s lined the halls

With treasure, grand

Not cash or jewel

Not coin or gold

But power fueled

Your hope to hold

Please rest your head

In pillow, soft

Rest in your bed

Your worries lost

Sweet dreams my love

Float like the clouds

The stars above

Shine for you now

A guiding light

Showing the way

A tender night

Another day

So, climb the rungs

That leads to rest

Let the slumber

Fill your chest

Renew your heart

Your mind and soul

Rest is the start

Making you whole
