Sunshine in My Pocket

A little poem about tiny joys and secret smiles

By KhunchaiZX99Published 9 months ago 1 min read

I keep a little sunshine

tucked away in my pocket—

just a secret spark

for rainy days.

It’s the memory of your laughter

echoing in the hallway,

the way your eyes crinkle

when you’re trying not to smile.

Sometimes, I find it

in the smell of fresh toast,

or the warmth of my favorite sweater,

or the silly doodle you left

on the corner of my notebook.

Life isn’t always fireworks—

sometimes, it’s a soft glow

that follows me quietly,

reminding me

that happiness can be small

and sweet

and hidden

right where I least expect it.

So if you see me smiling

for no reason at all,

just know—

I’ve got a little sunshine

in my pocket today.
