When I look at you
I see the dawn.
The soft breath of morning just before we wake.
You are the mist
as it rolls through the mountains.
You are the fog that rises through cities
through oceans and lakes.
You are the moments just before sunrise-
the slow, gentle transition
when you snooze your alarm for just five more minutes.
Five
More
Minutes
to hold you.
To kiss you.
To look into your beautiful eyes and whisper
"Good morning; I love you".

This made a often cynical Scottish-Italian who finds love poetry a bit much at times, smiling! such deft brevity at work in this one! loved it, Rae!
Aww this was beautiful. I love the way you captured dawn, the way dawn became a person, and the person became omnipresent. Consumed, the way dawn consumes the moment just before sunrise. This idea warmed my heart, it was so lovely and has put a smile on my face. 👌🏽👏🏽
