Sunny Waves

Never return to shore

Glitter, spark, and blush,

not for your face

but on the ocean.

Far away or just a few steps

in the waves.

***

Tripping, toiling,

floating on the foam.

Where is the edge of thought

that lingers when you’re gone

down under.

And no one knows or could suspect

you’ll come on top

sailing from on high.

***

The sea waves keep you going,

your love, your heart,

your very meaning.

For how can you not smolder

for every drop that goes asunder

and doesn’t land

on fingers, cheeks, and hands,

that you adore.

***

There is no special wave,

you have to wait

for all that will come after.

None different,

you alone

will feel the difference.

***

And on your choice

hang dreams and hopes

and wishes for the ones

you love.

***

And if one of these waves

would take you whole,

completely

and never once return you

to the shore.

***

Who would be looking, searching,

or depicting

what your last seconds brought

and how you said

Goodbye.

***

Or come again

it is not done

until you go back to the void

and feel there’s nothing further

to search, to learn, to bring to life.

***

Keep ghostly thoughts apart

and they will not come haunting.

Daylight or the sunshine

Haze, fog, and cobwebs

belong to worlds apart

and none can enter

***

If you have made a wish

and set your heart

on keeping all alight.

***

Shining from afar,

or kindled deep inside.

Delight comes crashing down

in waves of pure delight.

If nothing tears the kindness and goodwill

that start your journey

and keep floating

on all the paths you take

and start

and end.

***
