On lazy Sundays,
after homemade lunch,
I loved to hike
into the chaparral wilderness.
Walking under the oaks,
sycamores, and cottonwoods,
across the wild oat meadows,
I would reach the lake.
Cattails lined the waters
where birds made nests.
What joy to sit there
watching mallards and coots
quack and swim peacefully.
I gazed mindfully
at the reed reflections,
the fish and tadpoles,
the rustling sounds
of the dry grasses.
Soaking the sun and
inhaling the breeze
perfumed with smell of
sage, and willow
it was bliss, a win-win.
Zero spending and healthy.
Connection with nature.
What could be more fun?
then spending like this
a Sunday afternoon!

Beautiful!
Just simply beautiful and love the images for they kind of remind me of he small river I lived by growing up.
