There are songs to sing, roads to be walked on, slides to be slipped on and lips to be kissed. Birds are still awake at 8:45 why? they are afraid why? to miss one full day, they know it won't last. For reasons unknown, summer feels better. Better than winter. Better than some springs and better than fall. To have summer love, being loved at all it feels undeserved. believing weather, believing in love feels unnatural. After the cold wait, after defrosting, we are allowed love, wearing that swimsuit and jumping in lakes. the 2 A.M. drives, getting fries with friends. Not being sad as much. picnics at the park, special farm bought jams, baked home made croissants, these are things to do, things to feel alive. Simple things that's true but we still have them. Have you flown a kite? or swam an ocean? "Carpe Diem" right? Being alive slaps, it's real but not free? Life has awful times, times where it feels fake. unbelievable. Ripping hair from scalps, uncontrollable tears and turmoil. Maybe rage is there, maybe you're upset. Maybe stay quiet. Maybe scream SO loud. Be the loudest there, then apologize. Go for some ice cream. Try to sit alone but don't be lonely. Try to be content, but laughing helps too. Especially now. filling up your life with things, people and what? what makes you happy? Can you keep summer? The summer feeling? can I have summer? for the rest of time. Or is that too much. Too much good feelings. no hibernating not for Golden Kids. The people who feel bright. the ones who live life. the same ones who leave. Just like summer does. And when they leave they take their warmth with them. then you'll be cold. But that's months away. And Summer is here and you're so in love. So in love with Life. Where does Summer go and do they miss me. I always miss them. The Golden Children. Lay with me in grass and look at the stars.
