Sugar, Sugar
You’ve Got Me Wanting You
*
sitting next to the sea
a cold drink in my hand
a sweet gentle breeze
and my feet in the sand
came some movement above
in the rustling palm
I watched a fair feathered dove
trying to fly in the calm
she shuddered and shook
stretched her neck and flew past me
she posed and she looked
like a rare origami
as I watched in a trance
this strange and beautiful dance
the waiter caught on and came over
please ma’am he said, as he touched my shoulders
“whatever you do, please don’t feed her
she’s shameless and bold but she won’t hurt a soul
she just wants a taste of your sugar.”
