In the stillness of the night,

when all the world is quiet,

the racing thoughts begin to fight,

and my mind is left in riot.

Tossing and turning in my bed,

unable to find rest,

the worries in my head

cause my heart to beat in my chest.

So I reach for pen and paper,

to write down what I feel,

to let my fears escape me later,

and my soul to finally heal.

With each stroke of the pen,

my worries start to fade,

as I breathe in peace again,

and my spirit starts to upgrade.

For the power of a paper and pen,

is greater than we know,

to calm our fears and our minds again,

and bring us restful, peaceful flow.
