“Love is so short, forgetting is so long.” — Pablo Neruda ( 1904–1973)

Along dawn-kissed streets, echoes of our past

Spilling from memory’s purse. Do you recall?

The rain-drenched days we danced, lost in youth’s haze,

A cadence of heartbeats, entwined with the rain's gentle descent?

Yet time, with its silent strokes, drew our paths into divergence

In solitude, your absence fills the void, ever-present.

The quiet spaces between my breaths. I’ve stumbled,

I scratched my heart, yet learned from each tear and fall.

Now at a crossroads, where the past blurs into the promise of the horizon,

Your spirit walks with me, although our roads divide.

In this raw confession, under heaven’s watchful eye,

In baring my soul, I find solace and strength in our shared humanity

Your essence guides me in every step, a constant presence on my way.
