strawberry strawberries

sliced in halves

spraying their juices

pink & red, pink &

red juices

am I squirt-

ing juices

am I a person

person now?

Oh what a body

body breathing

body bleeding

body now

damp & ooz-

ing even

after seven-

teen seconds

now, alive

the flip side

of destruct-

ion is—
