Storm in Perspective
A poem about hope in hopelessness
By L.J MoorePublished 11 months ago • 1 min read

Some days, some lead lined days
the air is so thick I could hold it
and my chest collapses with the weight of it.
The sun is blotted out with greyscale clouds
and everything is the Wizard of Oz.
All sepia toned.
I have seen this movie before.
This storm bleeds way to colour
and whimsy.
I keep my feet apart.
I dare not think of home,
not for tonight.
Tomorrow bring the leash. Bring the ruby slippers and the big balloon.
Tonight the bricks are yellow, the city emerald.
Tonight I will befriend a Lion.
I will make myself whole.
