Achilles Patroclus

My love, do you hear that?

The drumming. It's louder now.

Can you hear it? I've lost you in the din.

I'm drowning in it, darling, I'm sinking in

the honeyed dawn and your mouth, wine-red,

it's torture, it's the end. Isn't it?

I search the sky for you, only I cannot see past this, only

darkness. Only my ash stained mouth speaks.

your name. Can you hear it?

All that you are. My love, you.

My purpose. My reason.

My evening sky. I will stop the drumming.

I will die for you, all I ask in return,

my love, is that you live for me.
