STOLEN MOMENTS

We Take What We Can Get

STOLEN MOMENTS

We take what we can get

<> <> <> <>

You never saw me looking

As you sat and watched TV.

You couldn’t feel the hunger

That grew inside of me.

*

You had no way of knowing

How you set my heart on fire.

For me, I found it difficult to

Smother my desire.

*

I walked into the bedroom,

And turned the lights down low,

Knowing that my silhouette

Would be the only thing to show.

*

I called your name so softly,

And you answered in a rush –

Enough to cause a crimson red,

In hungry lover’s blush.

*

You said you locked all the doors,

And extinguished the hall light.

We knew had an hour

Before the kids came home that night.
