Stolen Glances

Love at the corner of my eye

By KhunchaiZX99Published 9 months ago 1 min read

I steal glances like pennies,

saving them in the piggy bank of my heart.

Every time you look away,

I cash in another secret smile.

You sit two rows ahead,

sunlight tangled in your hair,

and I wonder if you can hear

my daydreams whispering your name.

Sometimes our eyes meet—

just for a second—

and I look away so fast

you’d think I was allergic to eye contact.

If courage was a currency,

I’d spend it all

just to say “hi”

without tripping over my own heartbeat.

But for now,

I’ll keep collecting these stolen glances,

hoping one day

you’ll notice the interest I’ve been saving.
