Stir to remembrance

I remember, I remember, I remember the blazing fire,

Blazing bright in its sway, a source to then inspire,

The smoke that refused to yield and the desire to play its part,

Refusing to settle for anything less, guarding with all its heart,

I remember, I remember, I remember the words exchanged,

The conversations I bring to memory, and all that had then changed,

Feelings said, hopes relayed, what was our delight,

The recollections of our greatest hope, of how we wage our fight,

I remember, I remember, I remember the actions, so bold,

Sung in songs, written in accounts, the stories that were told,

The challenges overcome, the giants that were slayed,

Victorious triumph, surest win, secured as the game was played…
