Stillness

Away from Anxiety

By Myrtle McLoughlinPublished 4 years ago 1 min read
True Stillness

Breathe

Just breathe

Stand tall feet strong body still

Tingles vibrate along fingers.

Small moments of static, messages exchanged.

Hands flutter, twitch.

Heart

Heart beat

Speeding, racing, careering.

Breathe

Just breathe

Seek calm.

Look inside, inhale.

Breathe slow.

Breath cold and jagged.

Fingers skim the floor, searching for silence

Find none

Textures come and go, appealing to the brain.

Just slow down.

Stop

Eyes scan restlessly through closed eyelids

Guilt flickers past

Acknowledge and relinquish

Replace scenes with colour

Breathe the fresh green light

Force it through the body

Reach muscle pathways

End the restless drive

Find peace with place

Slow heart

Open mind

Stillness
