I wake up to his voice

In the middle of the night

I’m once again caught up

Between the dreams of him

And the reality of him

It’s a delicate balance

How do I stay rooted

To the present?

I’m still in a dreamlike state

My days and nights are a haze

The pull of reality

The sweetness of my dreams

Are the puzzle pieces of my life

Finally falling into place?

I doze off, wondering about it all

I wake up to sunlight

Within my heart and my bedroom

I talk to the curtains

They know me well

They have always been there

They are golden

I will miss them when I’m far away

I will write about them

He is asleep

I keep thinking about

Stepping into his dreams

I come back to myself

My cat is curled up in a corner

I wonder whether he slept well

My tongue meets the coldness

Of the orange juice

I leave my silence behind

And meet the chaos of my day

Something in me tells me

That everything will be okay

Until then, I keep going

I fold my starry blanket

The curtains smile

The dreamcatchers give me hope

Is it possible to befriend

Both stillness and chaos?
