A Meditation on Inner Peace
The world rushes by in frantic pace,
Leaving behind an empty space.
I ponder, God, why souls find rest
So rarely in life's hurried test?
We long for quiet, not the शोर
Of conflict knocking at our door.
I ignite no torch of angry fire,
My deepest wish is to aspire
To gentle strength, to silent grace,
A tranquil smile on every face.
Let children wake with peaceful sighs,
Reflected in their innocent eyes.
Let mothers find a moment still,
Their spirits refreshed on any hill
Or quiet shore. Let fathers know
The inner calm that starts to flow
When worries cease. I ask you, Lord, to fill
Our beings with a sense of still,
Like waters deep, serene and vast,
Where troubled thoughts cannot long last.
Calm the tempests in the soul,
You are the keeper of the whole.
It's you, my Lord, whose presence brings,
Solace on silent, unseen wings.
Infuse us with a tranquil mind,
A peaceful haven we can find.
Eradicate the inner strife,
Let serenity define our life.
Help us, Lord, to understand,
The quiet power at your command.
Destroy the demons of unrest,
And grant us inner peace, the best
Of gifts. You Almighty God, so wise,
Grant stillness that will never die.
