Still on the Same Branch
Truest love last for all the dream

Still on the Same Branch
They sit close on a branch,
white feathers holding the hush of the day.
Leaves listen without leaning too far in,
the air stays careful, as if it remembers.
Two hearts face each other without a gsound,
eyes holding a promise already agreed.
Nothing needs naming between those small pauses,
love settles where words would only interrupt.
The branch bends gently under shared trust,
not breaking, not asking for more.
Time slows itself to match their breathing,
even the sky waits its turn.
They have learned the shape of staying,
how stillness can be an act of faith.
No fear hangs between their chests,
only the calm of being chosen.
Light rests on them without judgement,
white against green, pure and unafraid.
The world keeps moving, beyond leaves,
here, it learns how to stop.
If storms have passed through before,
they no longer leave a mark.
What remains is the courage to remain,
side by side, without defence.
When evening finally loosens the branch,
they will move together, or not at all.
Some loves are not about flight or escape,
only about staying where peace lives

Love this, Maire, nice work. These lines are so true: "Some loves are not about flight or escape, only about staying where peace lives"
Gorgeously-penned; gorgeous sentiment too! 💕🫶🏾
