Steve Hunted For Happiness
He felt life was a drag.
Steven seemed to feel life was a drag.
And he did not see his blessings.
He always judged others and would brag.
Was not grateful for little things.
He was not able to say good-bye
To his great friend who just passed away.
He hated God, and he would not pray.
Steve's friend that died just turned twelve,
Hit by drunk driver who sped away.
The boy fell off his bike, pain was great.
He had bumps, bruises that day in May.
Also had head trauma from the ground.
Many people loved him, he was brave.
He blamed God and also hated him.
Because his friend's life could not be saved.
This boy had so much life left to live.
Steve happened to see him in a dream.
The boy told him he had no more pain.
He said, "God and I - on the same team."
I know I'll see you again one day.
I want you to be happy, not sad.
Be mad at the drunk driver, not God.
I'm grateful for the life that we had."
He needed to think of others, not brag.
Life had much to offer him, he knew.
He knew bragging was selfish, he quit.
He would love more and see little things.
From then on, Steven's life quickly changed.
One day the drunk driver he'd forgive.
He hoped he would pay for what he did.
He would learn about some ways to give.
