“Alpha Centauri,” you said

pointing to a bluish star

the color of your eyes.

“Seven percent of the speed of light

and we could be at Bc in 80 years.”

“The Orion Engine, “ I thought.

Quick calculations and I figure our

great grandchildren would be in

high school.

A long ride without the pay off of

the desired destination. I wondered

if it would be worth it.

Well, without a stem cell longevity

miracle I guess we won’t make the trip,

but I’d be honored to have our ashes

mingle with the void between solar

systems along the way baby.
