Static hearts.

……

By Marvelous MichaelPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

Flashing lights and neon scars,

Chasing echoes in the dark.

We were fire, we were sparks,

Now we’re fading into stars.

*

Static hearts don’t beat the same,

Frequencies we couldn’t name.

I still hear you on the line,

Calling out from another time.

Really nice poem! Especially enjoyed lines 1 and 4 of the first stanza.

Ohhh, this is smooth and bittersweet—like a lost love stuck in radio static. Feels like a song that plays in the background while someone stares dramatically out a window. Love it!
