Stars

burn on, burn bright

They say

the brightest

stars

are the ones

that burn

out first.

*

Exploding

into a supernova

or just fading

away from the

spotlight.

*

But it’s not

just literal stars,

the saying

works

for the living,

too.

Or rather,

for those who

were lost far before

their times, for

various reasons.

*

Christina Grimmie.

Cameron Boyce.

River Phoenix.

Brandon Lee.

Aaliyah.

Kurt Cobain.

Chadwick Boseman.

Amy Winehouse.

Tupac.

Robin Williams.

Esther Earl.

*

That’s just

to name a

few, because

there’s so many

whose light was snuffed

before it could

truly glow

and naturally

blow out.

Yes, there's too many of them. But the only thing that is guaranteed in this life is death. Loved your poem

What a beautiful tribute to those who have passed well before their time.
