The High Priestess - Quan M Chu & Rachel Handley

"Nothing worth learning is known

'til needs which need meeting are met,

no sights yet unseen shown.

No seed worth sowing sown

in land unthawed and soils tilled yet.

Nothing worth learning is known;

no Rock of Gibraltar to hone.

No Joshua tree points to where you'll be led,

no sights yet unseen shown

on roads where no street lamps have shone.

Where what you seek lies, no path has been set.

Nothing worth learning is known

by seeking without what is inwardly grown.

A rose without thorns may your mask-mirror reflect,

no sights yet unseen shown".

Whisper the maiden, the mother and crone

'pon Hecate's shoulders, wyrdly set.

"Nothing worth learning is known.

No sights yet unseen shown".

Villanelle
