You look at me and say,
“Where have you been?"

I don't look back at you, but I reply,
"I guess I've been missing."

You ask me,
"Why, where did you go?"

I respond;

"You forced this goodbye, then showed me the door.”

You scream,

beg,
plea,
and weep.

I tell you;

"Get a good look at me. It will be the last you'll see."

You ask me to wait,
as you think you've made a mistake.

I tell you;

"You can't skate on this lake,
not in the spring."

I scream, louder than thunder!

“You've haunted my dreams,
and now you want my loving?

You've had chances,
so many of them.

You had to keep dancing,

till your legs had no will to bend.

I don’t even blame you.

I blame myself."

Lastly, I tell you;

"Over there, that's the door.

Enjoy the other side as I've seen it,

lived it, adapted to it, even almost became it, and still, I resent it.

I suggest you seek out and face the truths in your soul that reside in Hell.”

About the Creator

anthony giglio

I'd love to but, all my writing would be augmented to a persona in a way manipulated by my bio. If I say I am a saint, you'll either believe me or think the opposite. How bout you use your mind and decide who I am, then tell me.
