Spring Around the Ring of Kerry

Poem inspired by my trip to Island.

By Chloe GilholyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

There once was a traveler so merry

Who journeyed around the Ring of Kerry

He sipped on Irish Coffee

And ate potatoes so soft and doughy

And left with a heart full of memories

He climbed up the mountains so high

And gazed at the endless sky

He saw the fjords and the trolls

And ate some lucky potatoes in bowls

And left with a smile and a sigh.

At the Red Fox Inn he did stay

And sipped on Irish Coffee all day

He asked for "holy water"

And the barmaid didn't falter

A trip to Bog House, with an open fire to play!

Good luck finding vegan feasts

But the English market has a stall that's a feast

For the eyes and the taste buds too

You'll find something delicious that's true

The best pub in Cork is all of them

You'll find a warm welcome in each one of them

From the cozy fireside to the lively bar

You'll find a seat and a pint not too far.
