Spell Binding
I’ve been told that with age comes wisdom,
Yet, I still see a man-made system.
Filled with crooked twists and curvy lines,
It makes one wonder and ponder the times.
Is magic afoot conjuring mysteries to wash us away?
There’s no one who can answer this even until today.
It is supposed that there are many such incantations,
From pots on the boil, pinches of spices whispered citations.
In some remote part of everyone’s mind, it’s said,
That spirits come to visit while we’re upon our bed.
Sent from some invisible place to carry a tale,
One whimsical or terrifying, some story to tell.
It’s been reasoned that spirit worlds exist,
Melodramatic, traumatic, or systematic at best.
To disguise the truth of what’s behind the scenes,
Preventing us from seeing and understanding to glean.
Pull back the curtain of what is around us,
Allow what is unseen to be seen if you have the guts.
Let us see the unending story all filled with glory,
Peel away outer layers signifying some allegory.
For to see the truth and understand what it means,
Is what life is about and wisdom can be gleaned.
Then in light of the newly found truth,
Let’s make our own choices our conscience to sooth.
