Speak to me

My ears grow hot as we make eye contact, not from embarrassment, no. I can’t say. I don’t know how how to explore this feeling, I’ve never felt it before. In my mind I know , I know I don’t know you. Yet, my heart tells me you are more than familiar. A warm new, there’s no anxiety, just us.

How should I look at you? Am I staring too long? People tell me I have a r.b.f, should I let it rest? Should I smile as you do? Yes, that’s what I’ll do, I’ll smile as you do. Why can’t I look away? Continue my conversation even? My soul knows you, it craves you, it pushes me to be close to you. Intuition led me to come out with friends tonight, but I am in disbelief that it led me to you.

They say love at first sight causes the other person to be the only one you see. Yet you are not the only one I see, you just shine the brightest, your tone is the warmest. Your person is the most inviting. Love at first sight is to feel that you know, know the familiarity of your smile. Know the familiarity of your frame. Know the familiarity of your step, as you finally come and speak to me.
