Spark

Poem

By Kaloriinn MasonPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

A spark flies from a candle,

flickers and goes out.

An instant of life,

a brief flash in time.

A love, passing so fleeting

A friend, jilted and jaded

A curse, a blessing to the heart

Feelings well up, ready to release.

A cinder laying in wait,

under the ash

In pain, waiting to breathe

and welcome the air

To live once more

Keeping hope ever so faint,

it holds the light..

Lost to the desert sands,

hardened to glass, ever so fragile.

A hand so small, reaching, grabbing..

Holds a new treasure to the sun,

an ember transformed

sees light not its own, a welcomed gift...

Bring new life, shaped in flame,

a heart, becomes new once more.

From ember to splendor,

a realisation of its beauty, once more.

A faceted glass figurine,

cherished and loved...

Reborn, a life after death

Hope, rekindled, to live once again...

A figurine falls from its shelf...

A young girl cries...

To die... a cycle, unending, unyielding

inspirational
