Spare Parts

i always said

i could never live

without you

and if you left

i would surely —

die

.

i always said

i was nothing

without you

and if you left

i would surely —

die

.

what a crock of shit

.

i’m still here

ticking

leaning

kicking

screaming

living

dreaming

parts of me

are broken,

yeah

.

parts of me

not whole,

granted

.

parts of me

can shed

a gritty tear

in silence

.

parts of me

will let

that same tear

become

.

dare parts

care parts

share parts

spare parts

.

i’m taking stock

of seconds,

making

all

these

minutes

last —

.

i’m taking stock

and no longer

running

at a loss

You did a great job showing how much power someone can find within themselves.

Yes indeed as you should, no one should be more important than yourself, you can live without others, but you have to live with yourself, and if they are not adding value to you…let them go. Love this poem.
