Southern Winds

The Devil's Sins

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

Southern winds have blown an evil spirit in,

the longest nights, reveal the devils darkest sin.

It’s raining hard, a mist conceals my crumbling world,

desires gone, before me now, a wispy vision twirls.

****

A presence here, only content to tease and taunt,

a ghostly face, my future now intends to haunt.

You've got to help, before I lose all of myself,

I fear for now, I'm turning into someone else.

****

The breeze cries soft, a voice calls out, beyond the trees,

an unholy grip, has me falling to my knees.

For mercy I beg, hear me calling out for help,

I can’t seem to find, a single way to save myself.

****

Someone please help, before I lose what's left of me,

the shell I am, is not who I was meant to be.

A shelter fast, to shield and block the evil southern winds,

before too long, he'll send his demons for me, once again.

As the children of Rechab once said, "If your heart is as mine, take my hand." Even if your heart is not as mine, dear friend, take my hand.
