Sorry

A Thought

It’s just a word.A word that means nothing.Nothing to me, anyway.Anyway, what’s the point? The point of saying sorry?

“Sorry, it won’t happen again.” A lie.

A lie that can be said over and overAnd over again. But why?Why do people think it’s okay?Okay, I get it.It isn’t always a bad thing.

A bad thing is like pollution.Pollution is always a bad thing.A bad thing is like global warming.Global warming is always a bad thing.A bad thing is like my trust.

My trust gets me into situations I don’t like.

Like those times people attempted an apology. An apology usually means you won’t do it a second time.A second time happened. Then a third.A third led to a fourth.

A fourth led to more.

More led to my trust being broken.Broken as if it didn’t matter at all.All I want is for “sorry” to mean something again.Again, like it did when I didn’t know what paranoia was.Paranoia was nothing then. But now?

Now it takes control.

Control is more than it looks. It looks simple but it’s a lot.A lot like sorry.Sorry. It’s just a word.A word that means nothing.
