sorrows

a song shaped in the headwaters

By G.S HascklePublished 23 days ago 1 min read

I relinquish my sorrow

from my heart through my lips & into this river

blanketed grief no longer holds me down

it will forever be apart of me

but i do not give consent for it to consume me

i release my heart

i release my breathe to the wind

i give my tears to the river

so they may flow

i will break my levee and let this flow

into a raging river of rapid memories

spilling into gullies bleeding oceans

back tot he sky where my salty tears

recycle in clouds

evaporated into thin air

so clouds may cry my sorrow

so my sorrows will ascend to rain drops

trickling down atop my head

i release

i accept

i am love

i am loved

i will stay dangerous

i will stay beautiful

i will relay the songs of my loved ones

through the vessel of myself
