Sorrow

Poetry

By Stranna PearsaPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

A smile on your face

But in your heart, only pain

You close your eyes

But the tears fall like rain

I see those tears

While looking into your eyes

They aren’t coming out

But inside you it writhes

I know it really hurts

When you’ve lost the one you adore

I wish I could take the pain,

make your smile mean more.

Darkness filled with weeping

Daylight wearing a mask

Acting as if your longing

Is fading to the past

I wish I could take this pain,

A burden so heavy to bare

With nothing to gain

But a true smile you wear

sad poetry

About the Creator

Stranna Pearsa

A long time ago I discovered the beauty and magic of the written word. The escape it provided when I was trapped was invaluable to me. It is my goal to provide that gift as it had been bestowed upon me so many times by so many others.
