Somewhere in the world

A poem

Flowers blossom and snowflakes fall

Red and yellow leaves float and fly

A blue bird swings in a cage

While its cousins whip through the sky

Couples glow in the magic of love

Others sling bitterness and hate

Farmers wipe dirty sweat off their brow

Golfers and fishermen take a break

A child’s stomach rumbles and churns

Another has a sugar high

A baby arrives with a scream

An old person departs with a sigh

A toddler runs into her mum’s arms

A teenager slams the door

A girl begs on the street

Her sister moves on the dance floor

Party guests laugh and rejoice

A woman curls up in despair

News of failure ruins a career

The winner takes his trophy with flair

Somewhere in the world

People laugh and people cry

People live

And we all die.

About the Creator

Natalie Parletta

I love how novels, stories, poetry open portals into other worlds, other journeys and experiences, how they can transcend, move, inspire, touch eternal truths; I strive to discover and share that in my writing. Thanks for reading :)
