I packed my dreams in silent sighs,
Chased neon truths beneath warm skies.
A city pulsed, and so did I,
Alive beneath the desert sky.
No map had drawn the path I took,
Just whispers where I used to look.
I didn't know what peace would mean,
Until I lived inside that dream.
The noise, the lights, the stillest days,
Where time slipped past in golden haze.
I wasn't rich, I wasn't known,
But something deep inside me had grown
I laughed without the weight of plans,
Had love with tired, grateful hands.
No future tugged, no past could chase,
I found my breath, I found my place.
But then I turned, for reasons blurred,
By memories that softly stirred.
And just like that, I said goodbye,
To stars I used to sleep beneath the sky.
Now every day, I miss the glow,
Of life that let my spirit grow.
Not chasing dreams, not needing proof,
Just being held inside my truth.
So when the ache begins to swell,
I play the scenes I know too well.
And in that reel of love and light,
I feel the pieces fit just right.
This isn't where the story ends,
The heart still moves, the soul still bends.
And if I want that life once more,
I'll build the bridge, I'll find the door.
