Sometimes You Write

From the Depths

Sometimes You Write

Sometimes you write in the trenches of emotion.

Sometimes you write to dig yourself out.

Sometimes you write to dig deeper.

Sometimes you get stuck in the mud.

Sometimes you help someone else along the way.

Sometimes it gets darker before you reach the light,

Before you get a grasp on the earth,

Strong enough to hold your weight,

To pull yourself up onto the fresh dew-covered grass,

Where the wildflowers grow and flourish,

Like you will one day.

Sometimes it does get darker first; described beautifully in your poem.
