Sometimes We Want to Return
Returning to Our Roots and Embracing Life’s Journey

Sometimes, we wish we could go back—
to the places where we were happy,
where we felt like ourselves,
where we were free.
Places that feel like coming home,
even if only for a moment.
Places where the wind brushes your face
and you can pause to take in everything around you.
There are places you miss without even noticing.
You miss them more than you'd like to admit.
I miss the forest, the snowy mountains,
the smell of coffee,
walking the streets, seeing the flowers,
riding a bike through quiet little roads.
I miss so many things from a place that was temporary,
but that became home.
It was a relief,
a new beginning,
a way to reconnect with myself—
to get lost in the woods,
see waterfalls, trees,
sit on the beach and watch the sunset,
see seals.
It was getting to know myself.
It was becoming independent.
It was leaving home.
It was many things.
Time keeps moving,
and we move with it.
The older I get, the more I realize it.
Everything goes by so fast.
There are so many things we say we’ll do tomorrow,
things we leave for another day.
But who says we have endless days ahead?
How do we know the day we’re waiting for will come?
We leave so much for later,
but it shouldn’t be that way—
or rather, I don’t want it to be.
I want to do what fills me today,
no matter how small or big.
That’s the point of this journey called life:
to collect moments,
experiences,
wisdom.
Not to waste time worrying about tomorrow,
but to live fully, day by day.
And yes—
not every day is joyful.
Some days are emotional earthquakes,
harsh wake-up calls,
moments of shock,
times when it feels hard to keep going.
But that’s all part of the search for happiness,
of finding our center.
It teaches us about ourselves,
connects us to our vulnerability.
Letting ourselves feel,
embracing these processes—
that too is part of living.
Nothing happens without meaning;
everything connects one moment to another.
The joy of life is in the little things:
a morning coffee,
feeling your people close,
seeing your favorite landscapes,
a deep laugh,
sleeping beside your dog,
long walks in the woods,
enjoying a good meal,
savoring dessert without guilt.
It’s being able to look in the mirror and speak to yourself with love.
It’s a phone call that feels like a hug, even from afar.
And sometimes, life overwhelms me.
I feel like hitting pause.
But that, too, is part of the story—
my story, your story.
Remember this:
it’s all in the power of words—
it’s your life.
Live it without fear.
Live it with the drive to experience everything.
Look inward.
Break. Rebuild.
Put the pieces back together.
Hold yourself close.
But live—
live with intention,
because everything is moving so fast.
Return home. Return to your center. Return to you.

Writing, for me, is a way to travel wherever I want, to explore the world through experiences and different perspectives. It’s a way to stay awake, to navigate through time, and to make sense of everything in between.
