Sometimes I Forget.

This is growth.

By Alexis HenryPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Sometimes I forget,

that I don’t need to keep the same survival skills I once relied on.

What once worked before,

was my only means of coping and protection.

I give myself full and indulgent permission to surrender to the trials I’ve conquered already.

The weight has risen

And I don’t see a reason to harbor what no longer belongs to me.

Flowing through life, as my story is already written.

With pages that have yet to be turned and stories that have yet to be told, I’m at peace with the unknown.

Because this life belongs to me.

Without fear I go because should I fall again…

I’ll be sure to land firmly on my feet this time.
