Something Old, Something New.
New Faces, Old Worries.

I meet new people every day,
Their smiles feel warm, they seem okay.
We talk about the things we like,
And for a moment, things feel right.
But in the back of my mind, I wonder,
Will they stay or drift like summer?
Will we fade like old memories,
Or hold on, like roots to trees?
I laugh with them, I share my time,
But still, I’m nervous, feeling like
They might be gone before I know,
Like friends from long ago.
I want to believe these moments last,
But the future comes too fast.
Will they stick around, or just drift by?
It’s hard to know, and harder to try.
Still, I hope they’ll stay a while,
Even if just for a mile.
Because, for now, I’ll take the chance—
To meet, to talk, and maybe dance.
