While driving through town, we pass many people on the street, holding hands, talking with one another. Having a great time being together. We come across someone I once thought I loved , you see a look in my eyes and ask " Who was that?" The reply is the same, every time I see them....

It is just someone I used to know.

You tell me you love me and receive no answer. Images stir within your mind, doubt is consuming. You wonder if I care for you at all. Words of comfort whispered to me, as you try to hold me close, I turn away. You ask what's wrong, and the reply is once again...

It's just someone I used to know.

I want to hold and assure you that you are my only one. My true and everlasting love. Part of me is frightened to let it show as it has been burned before. I should be able say what I want to cry out to the world. Things you ought to know. The words that should have only been spoken, and meant for you. The words to hold in your heart if you wish, I LOVE YOU!....but give me time to get over that

Someone I used to know.
