Someone Else's Daughter

By BrenPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

It’s just gone one o’clock

and your daughters still not home

even amongst late night friends

a girl will be alone

alone amongst thousands in the city

alone with others on the train

our society isn’t safe anymore

it’s turned sick, insidious and insane

Someone else’s daughter

someone else’s wife

someone else’s everything

someone else’s life

it’s always someone else’s daughter

to you that matters the most

it always happens to someone else

the realities not that close

someone else’s problem

someone else to blame

someone else’s misery

it’s someone else’s pain

So last night was a false alarm

her car had broken down

the headlines feed your darkest fears

Girl Attacked In Town

slip comfortably into your complacency

another false alarm

keep her close keep her home

keep her safe from harm

I wish my dad would ever care about me. I figured that when my sister was born I became a garbage bag for my parents that they had to feed and provide shelter, but nothing else. C'est la vie. I will never be able to change that. All I can do is change my mind and write a story, true this time. One day the world will find out. The photo you used reminds me of some British movies like "Billy Elliot" or "Looking for Eric". I think that the northern neighborhood may look like this, there aren't many such walls here. However, it has its charm. Poor but palpable.
