Some call them fireflies

I call them lightning bugs

Isn’t it beautiful? Compliments of Google

Have you ever sat outside with a journal and a pencil?

In the grass as the sun sets and the lightning bugs sparkle?

The pencil writes with a crisp tip and the point dulls the deeper in thought you fall?

It’s my favorite thing to do and you should try it

I believe you would love it too.

The soft air as it glows with turning colors in the sky from day to night

The calm feeling you get in your chest with every deep breath

The subtle smile that begins to grow

And the wonderful, calm feeling that everything feels just right.

About the Creator

Samantha Hoback

✨ I went to school for writing, but it didn’t last very long. I think I just stopped and realized, “if I want to be a writer, I need to do it on my own.” ✨
