Solitary Woman
It’s with an abundance of anticipation,
She sits awaiting a meaningful summation.
A comment, a word, a short verse perhaps two,
That touches her heart as no other can do.
Buried deep where no one can see,
Emotions stirred up by someone’s past plea.
A memory wakes her and at night she cries,
But time and life have made her too wise.
Not into games nor is ambiguity favored,
Her words are clear, her life she has savored.
Life has taught her to think on her own,
Even if it means she’ll be left all alone.
No greater life can be lived it is said,
Than one lived to the fullest, a heart that bled.
Whether understood or not makes no difference,
She lives her life knowing it was her preference.
So be gone with you those who wish to offend,
With a spoken word or letter penned.
Tomorrow is a new day for her to be seen,
She wouldn’t have any other way, that’s a guarantee.
