Solicitously...

Solicitously, I'll wear my fine jewelry, my rings and my watches.

I'll wear my hair long and braided, with strings through the notches.

Leaving this world is not in my plan, but in case it does happen...

Effortlessly, you'll know who I am... and know who I'm not.

Not because of my face, because you might not see it, but because of

Characteristic things, my braids and my rings, you'll believe it.

Even if they're stained red or if the arm isn't attached... you'll know for sure that that's who I am.

This acrostic was inspired by a 10-year-old Palestinian girl who identified her mother's body by her hair after their home was bombed. This is also an acknowledgment of the countless others that could not be identified by their faces.
