Spangled slippers shuffle softly

Sleepy shapes shift silky sheets

Silent shadow soon surrounding

Slowly stammers, scarcely speaks

Shiv’ring sounds shakily sharing

Stories short slumber supplied

Speaking steadies, shifting, surging

Stopping short, suddenly shy

Sleepy shapes seem somewhat surly

Shadow slips silently, sore

Slippers seeking source of sparkle

Sunlight surely soon succours

sad poetry

This one almost requires that we read it aloud to fully appreciate its beauty & to slip into the memories of those fearful moments we experienced as children, sodden with sleep. Like a lullaby sung to us by sleepy shadows.

This is the kind of poem one needs to linger, read and read again. Apart from the rhythm of this poem there is a deeper meaning that I just can't place my finger on. There is a seeker in this poem in a place where no one can be disturbed. Only through enlightenment, by the sun, do they find help. Wonderfully written. Loved and subscribed :)

This is beautiful! I loved the closing lines, the sensations of omen pinnacled with hope. Brilliant.
