Catch me if you can

if you manage to get next to me

Be sure to grab with both hands

Because one slip of the wrist

And I am a bird of passage

Hold me if you plan

To provide comfort for convictions

But please understand

I will be gone like tomorrow’s news

So, allow me to suggest

You discontinue pursuit

Wouldn’t you rather know it is coming

And not have to spend your time running

Chasing something that will never do

So, let me know when you are ready

And promise to never forget me

Before I lace up

My sojourner shoes
