Soft music and a gloomy day

Let me remain here

Within the confines of my bedroom

Let me reach out to no one

And wallow in self-pity

It’s easy to fall into the trap of my faulty thinking

When there is no one around to correct me

I close my eyes and feel the music

Some people don’t listen to music much

And that surprises me a little bit

Because I have spent days losing myself to songs

Listening to a song on repeat for hours

Because I just couldn’t get enough of it

I have always been on my own

And in my solitude and my loneliness

Music has been my sole companion

Helping me cry my heart out when I need to

Soothing me when I am cold inside out

Bringing me joy unexpectedly

Losing myself to music brings me so much bliss

From sad music to happy

Sad lyrics, happy music

I feel slightly better now

Even though I am still all alone.
