Soaring Together Behind the Eclipse
This poem was inspired by and includes song titles from Pink Floyd’s iconic album Dark Side of the Moon

Me, a simple girl with
Uncomplicated values
You, a member of the elite where
Money
Talks
And those without are not welcome
Where riches rule
And families have no
Time
For simple girls like me
I see you across the room
You see me
You know I am drawn to you
I think you are drawn to me
I can’t move
I can’t not move
Is it fear of rejection?
Or
Brain Damage
I can’t
Breathe (in the air)
Can only breathe in your aura
It’s overwhelming
Blinding
Like an
Eclipse
You smile
You
Speak To Me
You ask what’s the colour of my rainbow
I tell you it can be
Any Colour You Like
You laugh
You take my hand and say
Let’s spread our wings of passion
and fly away
Let’s go
On the Run
To a
Great Gig in the Sky
Where there’ll be no more
Us and Them
Just you and me
Alone together, soaring forever
On
The Dark Side of the Moon
